Cementos Cosmos, part of Votorantim Cimentos, plans to install a 6.2MW photovoltaic facility at its plant in Toral de Vados, Spain. Cementos Cosmos to burn tyres at Toral de los Vados

The Toral de los Vados cement works, operated by Cementos Cosmos, will be able to use waste tyres as alternative fuel following the granting of an Integrated Environmental Authorisation. The company has attributed the move to rising petcoke prices that are eroding the competitiveness of the works in the international market. Cementos Cosmos is to be allowed to burn biomass at its kiln, according to the Cordoba appeal judge dealing with the case.
